Julie Newmar - Inspiration.

I think my first introduction to Julie Newmar was through the movie To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. It's no wonder that she is, for the characters of the film, THE woman. Seeing photos of her was one of the first times that I felt good about having curves. And whenever I feel down on my own, I can see the beauty in having the body that I do.

I love her as Catwoman. I love the styling surrounding her within the television series. The blues, the reds, the golds. Statuesque. Amazonian. Powerful. Woman.

I remember when I longed to get away from this, from home. I remember when all I wanted was to be anywhere but there. My father's old cars, my grandfather's land, the trees that I was too scared to go into alone.

But, now, I long for it. The cars, the land, the trees, the sky - the colors are what I see when I close my eyes. I can be myself there. I can rest there. My feet are bare there.

And here we go.

I have debated on whether or not I should make another blog, one that is separated from the one that I have had on http://www.livejournal.com for so many years. I decided that I should as my lj is one that I keep closed and I wanted another outlet for something more public - to share inspiration and ideas - the whirlies of the here and there. I'm excited, so here goes.
